Line-up
Turn Back, the band's third studio album is an ode to the classic sextet structure and it was a more consistent, more powerful effort that had a more grittier edge. Its edgier sound reflected the maturation of the group and featured drummer Bobby Kimball's improved proficiency on the drums, as well as a more confident, mature vocal delivery from singer Joseph Williams. David Paich's keyboard playing was also more sophisticated, sharper, and less derivative on previous efforts.
After touring to promote the album, the band recorded a live concert in Amsterdam which was released as a two-CD set entitled Falling In Between Live on Eagle Records.
